Various transactions are carried out by sale or purchase of essential goods and commodities using various kinds of weighing and measuring instruments to meet the consumers' daily needs. Consumers' interests are best protected only if weighing and measuring equipment used in the transactions are duly verified and stamped by the legal metrology. The Legal Metrology wing has been entrusted with the responsibility of certifying weighing and measuring equipments in the state.
